The Government of Kerala is
organizing an International seminar on "Democratic and Secular
Education in the context of Kerala’s Experience” form 4th
to 6th December,2008 at the Kerala University Campus,
Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala State. South India.
Eminent educationists and intellectuals of
international and national repute will be participating and
presenting papers in the Seminar.
An organizing Committee is constituted under chairmanship of Shri
M A Baby, Hon’ble Minister for Education and Culture with
Shri M Vijay Kumar, Hon’ble Minister Sports & Youth affairs, Law
and Parliamentary affairs as General Convener and the Chief
Secretary, Govt. of Kerala and other Govt Officials of the Dept.
of Education as members for the smooth conduct of the Seminar.
The purpose of
the seminar is to critically interrogative the state of education
in India and to evolve a perspectives for the future development
of education in Kerala. The Seminar would, inter alia, address
some of the fundamental issues relating to philosophy and practice
of education from a comparative perspective.
